Open Water Lifeguard training / Assessment
The Open Water Lifeguard qualification equips lifeguards with the skills to supervise and provide rescue cover for planned, organised, and risk-assured activities in still, non-tidal water.
During the course we will cover a range of CPR, first aid, and open water skills.
Course duration is 18 hours of training which we can deliver as either fully face to face or in a hybrid format.
The course is managed by the Royal Life Saving Society UK, upon qualifying with the Open Water Lifeguard (OWL) qualification, which is valid for 2 years from the date of successful completion.
The British Canoeing Rewarding Body (BCAB) Swimmer Safety and Rescue course is designed to provide paddlers, regardless of craft, with the key safety skills and knowledge to work as part of a water safety team where open water swimming is involved.
Over the course of 7 1/2 hours the paddler will be taught the key skills to enable them to form part of water safety team at an event, managed swim venue, or waterpark.
The British Canoeing Rewarding Body (BCAB) Paddlesport Safety and Rescue Course aims to provide paddlers with the key safety and rescue skills required to operate safely and to be able to deal with common problems in a sheltered water environment.
This course aimed at all paddlers, regardless of craft. Over the course of 6 hours the paddler will be taught the essential skills to solve common problems. Content includes:
Clothing and Equipment
Safety frameworks
Contact and Towing rescues
Self-rescues
Deep water rescues
Reflection and development
We are able to facilitate and deliver continuous professional development training for open water lifeguards. Ensuring lifeguard maintain their skills and get opportunities to practice in a range of site specific scenarios.
For those lifeguards that already have an indate pool based qualification we are able to deliver an 8 hour conversion course. Teaching the lifeguard the unique elements of lifeguarding within open water environments.
